Cricut & Silhouette Box Templates (Free SVG & DXF)

Every Die Cut Studio template exports as a 1:1 SVG, PDF or DXF that cuts on a Cricut or Silhouette. Blue lines are cuts and red dashed lines are scores. This guide shows how to bring the file in at the exact size, how to make the fold lines score instead of cut, and which templates fit your cutting mat at their default size.

Cricut Design Space

  1. Export the SVG. Size the template in the editor and download the SVG.
  2. Upload it. In Design Space, upload the SVG and add it to your canvas.
  3. Check the size. Select it and confirm the width and height match the flat size shown in the editor. Don't resize it.
  4. Set the folds to score. Change the red fold lines to Score so they crease instead of cut, then cut.

Silhouette Studio

  1. Pick the file. The free edition opens DXF. Designer Edition and above can open the SVG, which keeps the line colors.
  2. Check the size. Select all and confirm the flat size matches the editor. If it is off by a constant percentage, set it back to that size.
  3. Map cut and score. Use Cut by Line Color (blue to Cut, red to Score), or Cut by Layer in Business Edition. In the free edition, set the fold lines to Score by hand.

Which templates fit your mat

At their default size, 23 of 59 templates fit a 12×12 mat (including bleed). Templates marked "No" still work: make them smaller in the editor, use a 12×24 mat, or cut them on a larger machine.

FAQ

Which file should I use for Cricut box templates?
Use the SVG for Cricut Design Space. It carries real inch or millimeter units, so it imports at the exact size. Check the size after uploading and set the red fold lines to Score.
Which file works in the free Silhouette Studio?
The free edition imports DXF. Designer Edition and above can use the SVG, which keeps the cut and score colors, so Cut by Line Color can send blue to Cut and red to Score.
What if my box is too big for the mat?
Make the box smaller in the editor, use a 12×24 mat, or cut it on a larger cutter or at a print shop. The editor shows which sheets and mats each size fits.
