About this template

A polar bear treat box where the bear seems to sit inside the box. A long neck and head with tiny ears rise above the rim, and two printed paws rest on it. The box is a dark snowy night with snowflakes and a snowdrift, which wraps around the side walls and back, and the lid is dark too. The lid is sized for card thickness because the head sits right where the lid closes.

How to assemble

  1. Print the design. Print the art onto white card. Use a printer you can trust to line up, because the dark blue runs right up to the folds and a slip shows as a white line.
  2. Cut and score. Cut the outline, following the neck, head and both ears, and score the 10 fold lines.
  3. Fold and glue. Fold the walls up and glue the corner flaps. The head has no fold at its base, so it stands straight up with the front wall.
  4. Fill and close. Fill the box, then fold the lid over and tuck the flap in behind the front wall.

Materials and settings

The default material thickness is 0.018 in (0.46 mm); set your own in the editor to match your paper or board. Blue lines are cuts and red dashed lines are scores: in Silhouette Studio use Cut by Line Color, and in Cricut Design Space set the red fold lines to Score. The head is one layer of card, so its back shows the unprinted side, which is white card on a white bear. Use a sturdy white card so it stays upright. The dark blue uses a fair amount of ink, and you can recolor it.
